About us
Ard Jonker
I have 25+ years of experience as a UX designer and developer and have a strong drive for sustainability. With a master's degree in Environmentally Oriented Product Development at TU Delft, I have worked in many organisations, in recent years in the energy sector. The Electric Cars course at TU Delft that I completed in 2018 has put me on the path of Vehicle-to-Grid. Since 2019, I have been working on making Vehicle-to-Grid technology accessible for home chargers.
Seita
At the beginning of 2020, I came into contact with Seita, a Dutch/German software company specialising in smart energy solutions. Together we built the first working version of V2G Liberty, based on their FlexMeasures platform.
What Seita contributes: Seita develops open-source software for flexible energy management. Their FlexMeasures platform optimises when energy is stored or used, taking into account dynamic electricity prices, solar and wind energy expectations, and your personal planning.
Volunteers

2025
Smart Charging for Everyone
Utrecht, December 2025 — Participation in National Agenda Charging Infrastructure (NAL) meeting on December 11, 2025 about the implementation and further rollout of smart charging for all EV drivers.
V2G Leaders Europe
Brussels, November 2025 — Participation in the top conference on November 20, 2025 for European V2G stakeholders, with presentations on scalability, regulations and technical challenges.
IEA Task 53 working group
May 2025 — Appointed as member of the international Task 53 working group of the International Energy Agency, focused on Vehicle-to-Grid implementation and standardization.
2024
V2G QUEST EU research 🧪
February 2024 - present — Contributing as expert to the European V2G-QUESTS research project, focused on inclusive and fair implementation of V2G technology in urban Positive Energy Districts.
Battery-on-Wheels conference
Breda, November 2024 — Presentation on practical V2G implementation and user experiences during this specialized conference.
EV Charging Infrastructure conference
Berlin, October 2024 — Invited speaker at the 4th anual EV charging infrastructure conference about the future of smart charging and V2G technology.
Elaad NL V2X Symposium
May 2024 — Contribution to the annual symposium on Vehicle-to-X technology, organized by ElaadNL, with focus on interoperability and standardization.
Symposium "Testing the Future of EV-Charging"
April 2024 — Participation in ElaadNL symposium about the future of EV charging tests, with demonstration of high power grid emulator and V2G functionalities.

November 2023 — Contribution to the development of national V2G policy and implementation strategies.
Electric Vehicle Day
Automotiv Campus - Helmond, October 2023 — Presentation on October 7, 2023 for automotive technicians in training about the practical aspects of V2G technology.
🏅 Hackathon Vehicle2Amsterdam
June 2023 — First place achieved on June 8, 2023 during the Vehicle2Amsterdam hackathon with an innovative V2G solution.

Global EV Charging Test - V2X Edition

2020
Contribution to Nissan Electric Club day
2020 — Presentation and demonstration of V2G capabilities for Nissan Leaf owners during this special club day.
First working V2G session
2020 — Realization of the first successful bidirectional charging session with own setup, where energy was both charged and fed back to the grid.
2019
Founding of V2G Liberty
2019 — Start of the V2G Liberty project with the goal of making V2G technology accessible for home chargers with dynamic energy contracts.
Ongoing involvement
National Charging Infrastructure Agenda
Active participation in various NAL meetings, including Smart Charging for Everyone kickoff, V2G working group meetings, and policy advice and technical consultation.
ElaadNL Events
Attended virtually all V2G-related (web)events from ElaadNL, including V2G/V2X Symposia (annually), Global EV Charging Tests, Technical Workshops, and Plugfests and test days.
This journey shows that V2G Liberty builds on years of practical experience, scientific research and close collaboration with all stakeholders in the ecosystem – from car manufacturers to energy suppliers, from government to end users.
