V2G Liberty 0.9.0: a new charger

V2G Liberty 0.9.0 is available as of this week. The biggest change is in the charger: alongside the Wallbox Quasar, V2G Liberty can now also control the EVtec BiDiPro 10, a 10 kW bidirectional charger. This charger is on sale new and works with cars from the Volkswagen Group; see suitable cars and chargers.

Work on preparing for the end of net metering also continues. Soon it won’t just be about what your car does, but above all about what flows through your meter at any given moment. That’s why V2G Liberty looks more and more at your whole connection:

  • your smart meter readings, per tariff, so the totals match your energy bill;
  • your household consumption, per phase;
  • the planned total for your connection, which FlexMeasures now keeps track of as well.

It isn’t the finish line yet, but it lays the groundwork for charging based on what your home and your solar panels are doing.

This version also fixes a number of issues. For example, a max-charge setting was sometimes ignored; that no longer happens.

And last but not least: more and more of the app’s texts are now available in Dutch šŸ‡³šŸ‡±!
